RB Josh Jacobs of Raiders arrested in Las Vegas for drink driving

LAS VEGAS – Las Vegas Raiders Running Back Josh Jacobs was arrested early Monday for driving under the influence hours after he returned from beating the Denver Broncos in their last game of the regular season.

Jacobs, 22, was arrested after Las Vegas Metropolitan Police responded to a call for a car accident at the McCarran Airport Connector and East Sunset Road at approximately 4:42 a.m. Jacobs was taken to hospital for minor injuries and later was treated, he was taken to the Clark County Detention Center, where he was booked for drink-driving, according to the Las Vegas public information officer.

Jacobs’s lawyers indicated that the broker would plead not guilty if the case reaches that stage.

“No complaint has been filed against our client and there are no blood test results to support the suggestion of disability,” David Z. Chesnoff and Richard A. Schoenfeld, attorneys at Jacobs, said in a statement. “Our intention is to plead innocent on behalf of Mr. Jacobs if he is charged.”

The Raiders acknowledged in a statement that they knew about the incident.

“The organization takes these situations very seriously,” said the team.

“We are aware of the situation. I’ll just say Josh is fine and I’m not free to comment on this until I have more information, ”said coach Jon Gruden.

According to Fox 5 Las Vegas, Jacobs was released and will appear in court on March 8.
