Rayo Vallecano against Barcelona Koeman does not have a cup keeper

H.Having a designated league goalkeeper and cup keeper has become an accepted practice at many football clubs, but Ronald Koeman has made it clear that he doesn’t see it that way Barcelona.
The Dutch will choose between Marc-Andre ter Stegen and grandchild depending on the match, so don’t be surprised if we see the German start in the Copa del Rey as well.
Remember, in 2007/08 Victor Valdes played in every league, with Frank Rijkaard not wanting to take any risks and trusting his number 1 goalkeeper completely.
Last year Ter Stegen played in the last 16 and quarter finals of the Copa where Barcelona were turned off, afterwards grandchild sustained an injury against Ibiza.
However, from 2016/17 to 2018/19 Jasper Cillessen was the undisputed Copa bullet stopper. Ter Stegen himself was the designated cup keeper in 2014/15 and 2015/16, while Claudio Bravo occupied the jersey in the competition.
In previous years we got used to the Liga-Copa duo of Valdes and Jose Manuel Pinto placeholder image, and the divorce was clear.
Now it remains to be seen whether Koeman will keep up grandchild or put Ter Stegen in for Wednesday’s last 16 game against Rayo Vallecano in Vallecas.
He maintains that he does not have a ‘goalkeeper and a league’ goalkeeper cup, but time will tell how that works out in practice.
