Raúl Castro is one of the possible deceased in 2021, according to ‘Deathlist’

Every year, in January, the UK web portal Deathlist publishes his famous and macabre list of the 50 celebrities who could die before the end of December. Arranged as a rankings, this curious list includes actors, models, politicians, scientists, artists and musicians from all over the world who are famous enough to have their deaths appear in the British press. For example, the one from 2021 reserved 41st place for Raúl Castro.

By creators’ rules, only 25 of those who survived the previous year’s macabre list can be repeated. The calculation of the positions is made on the basis of the mortality probabilities of each figure, taking into account the age or diseases from which they suffer.

The 2021 list is curious as the Duke of Edinburgh, husband of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain, appears in the top spot for the second time in a row as he is nearly 101 years old and continues to be removed from public life.

This ominous list, which has existed since 1987, managed to get it right in 2020 with 20 out of 50 candidates to die, representing the current record. Previously they reached figures such as Hugo Chávez and Fidel Castro.

The 2021 ‘Deathlist’ includes these characters in the following order:

Duque de Edimburgo, Betty White, Dick van Dick, Bob Dole, Emperador Akihito, Loretta Lynn, George Schultz, Rush Limbaugh, Murray Walkers, Ángela Lansbury, Bob Barker, Alan Greenspan, Henry Kissinger, June Brown, Jimmy Carter, Leslie Phillips, Jacques Delors, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, David Crosby, Prunella Scales, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, Tony Bennet, Rosalynn Carter, Dick Cheney, Reina Isabel II, Harry Belafonte, Bob Newhart, Jimmy Greaves, Bárbara Walters, Papa Benedicto XVI, Imelda Marcos, Yoko Ono , Walter Mondale, Linda Nolan, Joanne Woodward, Mel Brooks, Willie Nelson, Betty Boothroyd, Jean-Marie Le Pen, Sidney Poitier, Raúl Castro, Burt Bacharach, Leon Spinks, Frank Williams, Stanley Baxter, Bernard Cribbins, Vanessa Redgrave, Shane MacGowan, Shannen Doherty, Capitán Tom Moore.
