A Spanish rapper has been accused of chopping off his roommate’s penis with a 12-inch kitchen knife as part of a gruesome attempt to gain attention on social media, reports said.
Aaron Beltran reportedly struck a deal with Andrew Breach, an Oxford-trained British teacher, to amputate his manhood – with Breach agreeing to pay a fee depending on how often the video was shared on YouTube, the Independent reported.
The payout ranged from £ 173, or about $ 240, to a maximum of £ 2,164, or about $ 3,000, according to the report.
Beltran has now been behind bars for four and a half years when convicted of carrying out the horrific act in Zaragoza, Spain, in March 2019, the paper said.
“On the afternoon of March 8, just before 7:15 PM, when both men were in the victim’s bedroom, Andrew tied his pajama cord around the bottom of his penis to prevent bleeding,” the charges read, The Sun reported.
“The suspect, sitting in a chair in front of him, cut his penis with a 12 inch kitchen knife that was never found because the suspect got rid of it.”
A police officer told the court in eastern Spain that 35-year-old Breach, who taught at a local language school, was bleeding profusely after the bloody stunt.
Another officer said Breach wanted to aggravate his penis because he didn’t feel like he was fully male.
“When he interviewed the victim in the hospital, he told us that the suspect had cut off his penis. Andrew said he didn’t feel like 100 percent man and wanted to get rid of his penis, ”the officer told the court.
He agreed a deal with the suspect to pay him € 200, depending on how many times the video of the amputation was viewed on YouTube. It was done based on hits, ”the officer added.
Surgeons managed to reattach the penis, which is now fully functional, according to the Independent.
Breach was hospitalized for three weeks and then returned to the UK.
Prosecutors acknowledge that the amputation was consensual, but argue that Beltran is still criminally responsible.
Meanwhile, Breach claimed in court that he cut off his own penis, contradicting his affidavit that Beltran was responsible.
‘I cut off my own penis. I was not feeling well. It was me, ”he said, adding that he’d felt pressure from the police to blame his roommate. Police denied his claim.
Prosecutors have accepted that Breach is suffering from gender dysphoria, the outlet reported.
Local reports around the time of the amputation said the two men drank four bottles of wine and took Valium to muster the courage to go ahead with it, The Sun reported.
Beltran, who spent four months in prison before being released on bail, bears the artistic name Sanatorio del Atico – or Attic Sanatorium.
