Rangers put Tony DeAngelo on waivers after altercation – The Athletic

The last straw for Tony DeAngelo and the Rangers apparently happened shortly after he was on the ice for the overtime goal that gave Pittsburgh a 5-4 victory at the Garden Saturday night.

Three sources have confirmed to The Athletic that there was indeed an altercation between DeAngelo and goalkeeper Alexandar Georgiev in the tunnel leading to the Rangers’ locker room. By the way, Georgiev was kept out of training on Sunday due to “maintenance”. The altercation was quickly cut short.

The Rangers have not confirmed or denied the incident.
