Random: The Pokémon Company forgot what a Magnemite looked like, and I’m really sorry

Magnemites

Okay, okay, we’re just speculate, but The Pokémon Company’s latest Muk-up is a Magnemite surveillance that might be worth something one day (h / t Kotaku).

See, it turns out Magnemite should look like this (handy red circle added by TPC itself):

But the hug looks like this:

You see?! Horrible.

(For those of you who do not look, the magnet is upside down.)

The Pokémon Company wrote an apology on its Japanese site, expressing its “sincere thanks” to all of their customers for their support, despite the grave wrong.

Either way, if you have one of these plush toys sold through Pokémon Centers, Pokémon Stores, and Amazon Japan, you can just take it to your local Pokémon Store for a replacement.

Or – and we are not necessarily encouraging this – you could just keep it. We know very little about toy prices, but aren’t faulty plush toys usually worth anything in a day? There may be a collector in thirty years’ time who can’t wait to get their hands on a slightly wrong Magnemite plush toy.
