Random: Cheap Clones Of NES LEGO Set Feature Duck Hunt, Contra and Super Mario Bros

Game video

Think of that beautiful LEGO set that came out last year, with a delicious retro TV and a NES console that plays Super Mario Bros.? Yes, the one that costs over £ 200. Yes, the one none of us can actually do to afford. Well, it looks like a few entrepreneurial companies have taken it upon themselves to clone the set for much cheaper, with … varying degrees of success.

As Takashi S. Omoto points out in his tweet, the sets are “charming, like janky,” and one of the sets even comes with additional “cartridges” that “play” different games, ranging from Duck hunting the infamous Bowser Battle from Super Mario Bros.

Fair warning: These probably won’t work with the LEGO Super Mario figurine, like the real deal does. Nintendo will probably find you and tell you too. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
