Raiders looking to trade Rodney Hudson

Yesterday we heard that the Raiders were cutting through the Pro Bowl center Rodney HudsonNot that fast. Las Vegas is actually trying to move Hudson through trading first, a source told Josina Anderson (Twitter link

In a sequel tweetAnderson notes that there is a transaction involving a “two-day harvest.” A choice for Day 2 would be a pretty nice haul for a player they were going to drop. This has been a trend in the NFL of late, with reports leaking that a player was only cut because the team tried to trade him in at the last minute, sometimes successfully, sometimes not. It was reported that the Saints would break down the defenses Malcom Brown, and then they traded him to the Jags yesterday.

The dolphins were ready to cut Kyle van noy, then tried to trade him, only to release him after finding no buyers. Whether Hudson is traded or released, it still represents a dramatic overhaul of the Raiders’ line of attack. This move follows up on Las Vegas’ cuts Gabe Jackson and Richie Incognito and his trade in Trent Brown to New England.

Hudson, 31, was rated ‘No. 8 overall center ‘from Pro Football Focus. The Raiders signed him for a three-year extension of $ 33.75 million in 2019. In six seasons with the team, he has missed just four games in total.

The Florida State product and former Kansas City Chief has made it to the Pro Bowl in three of the past five seasons and was a Second Team All-Pro in 2019.
