Rachel Bilson on dating The OC castmate Adam Brody: ‘It was an absolutely unique experience’
Rachel Bilson talks about her time with The OC castmate Adam Brody.
Bilson, 39, spoke to Nylon Tuesday, talked about her time playing Summer Roberts and dating then-costar Brody.
“ Because of what the show was and how young we all were, it was really great going through it with someone who was experiencing the same thing and having that kind of support, ” said the Los Angeles resident. ‘I’m actually thankful that I’ve had it.

‘It was definitely a unique experience and I don’t think anyone else could have really understood it if they hadn’t been in it, so for that reason it was super helpful and supportive, and I’m completely grateful for the whole experience.’
Bilson said she would be willing to reboot the show – which initially ran from 2003 to 2007 – and has kept in touch with show creator Josh Schwartz, who she described as a brother, and writer Stephanie Savage.
‘You know, I’ve always said everything Josh and Stephanie want to do, I’m on board for, but it’s kind of hard to figure out what you would do with the characters and where they would be,’ she said. ‘I’ll say if they ever wanted to do it, I would. But I just don’t know where you’re going. ‘
She said she was ‘actually texting’ ex-costar Ben McKenzie recently, ‘which was so much fun and he just welcomed another kid into the world.’

She said she was happy to reconnect with Melinda Clarke to do their rewatch podcast of the show, entitled Welcome to the OC, B ***** s! from Kast Media.
“Mindy and I are clearly close again, which is great, but we’ve all talked about getting together, so we hope that will happen soon,” she said. ‘We just want to get together, get all the kids together. It’s just so crazy. Everyone has children, or many of us anyway. It would certainly be a journey. ‘
Bilson is mother to daughter Briar Rose Christensen, six, with ex Hayden Christensen, while Brody, 41, is father to daughter Arlo, five, and a seven-month-old son to wife Leighton Meester.
