Queer Eye’s Tan France announces that he is expecting his first child with husband Rob

Queer Eye’s Tan France is expecting his first child with husband Rob thanks to ‘the greatest gift / help of the most wonderful surrogate’.

He made the joyful announcement Tuesday via Instagram, with a playful photo of the British fashion designer, 37, holding an echo across his chiseled stomach.

So happy to finally share that WE HAVE A BABY !! No, I am not pregnant, despite this VERY realistic photo ‘, captioned France, noting that the baby was coming’ this summer ‘somewhere.

“Rob and I are lucky to be on our way to becoming parents this summer. Something we wanted for sooooo many years.

Along with his shirtless ultrasound, Tan added a sweet image of himself and his husband of nearly 14 years posing in front of snow-capped mountains.

Rob, who happens to be a professional illustrator, also used his Instagram to reveal the couple’s pregnancy to the world.

‘We have a lovely little angel on the way and I didn’t think it was humanly possible to feel that way,’ captioned the artist, who also serves as a pediatric nurse.

Rob used his artistry to create a surreal drawing of how he imagines their unborn child looking into the surrogate’s womb.

The couple, who currently live in Salt Lake City, Utah, were married in 2007.

In 2019, Tan openly expressed his desire to be a dad one day, admitting it had been a dream of his for a while.

“I’ve wanted kids since I was 19, 20,” he told host Terry Gross in an interview with Fresh Air. “If I had been in a stable relationship at the time, I would have desperately tried to have children.”

Ahead of his 2021 announcement, Tan stressed the interviewer that “ surrogacy costs a lot for gay men. ”

And despite the success of Queer Eye’s Netflix reboot, France gushed at the moment when he wanted to be “ a stay-at-home dad, something I’ve wanted for many, many, many years. ”

So that was the plan. And I actually want – crazy, I still want six. I don’t know if that will happen, but yes, I still want six children. ‘

He also spoke fondly of his ‘blissful’ relationship with husband Rob, who he was married to for 11 years at the time of his Fresh Air appearance in 2019.

‘I could write 10 books about how much I love my husband. He’s the most impressive man I know, ”he gushed.

France famously joined the highly successful Queer Eye reboot in 2018 alongside Jonathan Van Ness, Antoni Porowski, Karamo Brown and Bobby Berk.

The original version of the series, which was also intended to revive guests’ lives using the expertise of the Fab 5, first premiered in 2003 and aired on Bravo for four years.

Unlike the reboot, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy paired the hosts with guests who were ‘straight men’, while Queer Eye paired hosts with people of all genders and beliefs looking to positively improve their current life / lifestyle.
