Queens Proud Boy’s wife arrested in Capitol plot seeking divorce

She is certainly not proud of him!

The wife of the wannabe Queens Proud Boy was arrested this week with a stockpile of guns after allegedly making online threats related to the uprising at the Capitol, told The Post she is getting a divorce.

Joni Florea said she was “devastated” after hearing the details of the charges against her husband Eduard Florea, who was arrested Tuesday on the basis of a federal weapons charge.

“Just hearing some of the details … is why I’m divorcing him,” she said in a phone call on Thursday.

Her husband of about six, Joni said, “has always been an angry man” – and “I fully believe he made plans to do this.”

“All I was worried about was my kids,” she said. “Eduard only cared about the Proud Boys.”

Prosecutors allege the 40-year-old software engineer posted about sending an armed caravan to the Capitol and also threatened the life of elected Senator Raphael Warnock hours before the January 6 riot.

He did not attend the siege of DC and is not accused of participating in the violence in the Capitol or making an online threat.

However, Joni said her husband ‘really wanted’ to go to the riot that day – and was even dressed in an army hat for the occasion.

‘I said to him,’ If you go, don’t you dare come back to my house, ‘she said. “We fought like crazy and I think the only thing that stopped him was that that ride never came.”

“He just sat there silently on his phone,” she added, recalling her tears over their argument.

Then, on Tuesday, an FBI vehicle drove down the couple’s quiet Middle Village street to take Eduard into custody.

FBI agents said they confiscated more than 1,000 rounds of rifle ammunition, two dozen shotgun bullets and about 75 military combat knives, two shutters, and two swords from the house.

Joni declined to comment on whether she was aware of her husband’s alleged armory, saying she is waiting to speak to authorities again first.

She and Eduard got married in 2014 and have two young children together.

Over the past four years, Eduard has become a “radical idiot” with regard to his politics and has quarreled with her mother, a liberal who “hates Trump.”

“He was like angry and upset and was decidedly brainwashed by the right-wing media,” Joni said.

Prosecutors say Eduard was a Proud Boy supporter and had applied to join the right-wing group, but had not yet attended enough meetings to qualify as a member.

While she was adamant about a divorce, Joni said her husband – who got no bail on Wednesday – was not yet aware of her plans.

But she has already set up a GoFundMe page asking for $ 2 million, including to pay for the divorce and to sue President Trump and Parler, where her husband is said to have made the threats.

“He doesn’t think about the consequences of his actions,” Joni said of Eduard. “And I think that’s the most disgusting thing about this … this is something that’s going to destroy him.”

“And it’s not going to destroy me,” she added, “because I know I’m a good person and I’m going to run away.”
