Queen Elizabeth ‘sad’, ‘not’ angry ‘about Harry, Meghan interview: report

Queen Elizabeth II is reportedly ‘sad’ and not ‘upset’ by Prince Harry’s amazing TV interview with Oprah Winfrey – but has decided to stand by her grandson.

Harry and Meghan Markle made a series of stunning allegations during their conversation with Oprah, including that an unspecified member of the royal family had expressed “ concerns ” about how dark their unborn son Archie’s skin would be.

The 94-year-old monarch ordered a private family investigation into the allegations when she personally took control to heal the bitter rift that The Sun said had been uncovered.

“She’s not angry, she’s just sad,” an insider told the news outlet about the Queen, who is said not to be angry with the Sussexes, whom she has described as “much-loved relatives.”

“They have always been concerned about him (Harry) and the Queen feels very protective of him,” the source told The Sun.

“They always tried to support him when Meghan came by. They were all less concerned about him when Meghan was on site because he seemed so happy, ”added the source.

TV host and Markle friend Gayle King said that Harry has spoken to his father, Charles, and brother, William, but their conversations so far have been “unproductive” after the sensational CBS News interview.

Harry claimed during the interview that the relationship with his grandmother was “very good” and that the two spoke often.

A statement released by Buckingham Palace after the interview read: “The whole family is sad to hear how challenging the past few years have been for Harry and Meghan.

“The issues raised, especially those of race, are worrying. While some memories may differ, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed privately by the family.
