QB Kyler Murray says he will be playing in a must-win game for Arizona Cardinals

TEMPE, Ariz. Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray will play against the Los Angeles Rams in the final of the win-or-go-home season on Sunday, he said on Wednesday.

Murray sustained a leg injury at the end of last week’s loss to the San Francisco 49ers, which put his status for Sunday’s game in question.

Earlier this week, coach Kliff Kingsbury was “hopeful” that Murray would play. The second-year quarterback put all questions to rest during his weekly video conference call with reporters.

“Yes, I’ll play,” said Murray.

In his first remarks since the injury, Murray said he “feels good” and that he was hit in the “right spot” on his right leg by the 49er defensive lineman Alex Barrett.

If the Cardinals beat the Rams, they’ll make it to the playoffs for the first time since 2015, when they went to the NFC Championship Game. If they lose, the Cardinals will end their season 8-8.

This is the first win-or-go-home game in Murray’s short NFL career, with the reigning rookie of the year saying, “the game is different.”

“You can’t hold back,” said Murray. ‘We’re losing, I’m home chilling. My leg is fine. ‘
