A Puerto Rican man identified as Steven Omar Maldonado was arrested today by federal authorities at the Orlando International Airport after he was charged with participating in the Capitol uprising on Jan. 6.
As reported by Wesh, Maldonado has been charged with two misdemeanors of illegal entry into a restricted building and violent entry or disorderly conduct.
The Puerto Rican is said to have admitted to a judge that he was the person captured in a photo of a man entering the Senate floor during the riots.
FBI agents found Maldonado at the Orlando airport just as he was about to board the plane bound for Puerto Rico with his girlfriend, according to his attorney reported to the chain, to visit his family and ‘enjoy the beach’.
The judge ordered Maldonado to be released on $ 25,000 bail, surrender his gun and passport, and not travel outside of Florida, except for litigation.
