According to the company’s website, Publix will open a new round of registration for appointments on Florida coronavirus vaccines after 7 p.m. EST Monday.
Appointments are only available online and cannot be made by phone. Over the past week, the company received more than 27,000 vaccine doses from state and federal governments to distribute to nearly 600 sites in 41 Florida counties.
The company’s vaccination efforts began a Florida pilot program in 22 stores starting Jan. 7, using the Moderna vaccine. The grocery chain has distributed 250,000 vaccines statewide and a total of 300,000 vaccines, including injections administered at its Georgia, South Carolina and Virginia locations.
Those who receive their first dose of the vaccine through Publix will be automatically registered for a second dose at the same location four weeks later.
Vaccinations are provided to the patient free of charge. Those who receive their vaccine at Publix must bring their health insurance card or red, white, and blue Medicare Part B card. Patients without insurance must bring their driver’s license or social security number.
