Prosecutor receives complaint against ambassador accused of waste – crimes – justice


The prosecution noted that it received a complaint on Wednesday against the Colombian ambassador to the UN, Adriana del Rosario Mendoza Agudelo.

The accusing body stated that it is an investigation and does not mean a formal investigation against him.

“The public prosecutor’s office will analyze the elements to determine whether there are benefits to it
concerning investigation, ”said the prosecutor.

The officer is also under disciplinary investigation by the Office of the Attorney General, for alleged irregularities in the management of public funds allocated to the diplomatic mission, in the terms of 2018, 2019 and 2020.

Apparently, Mendoza Agudelo acquired luxury personal property for his home with official money and apparently paid expensive bills with state resources in unofficial acts.

Likewise, the disciplinary process is investigating whether the ambassador incurred himself in an alleged forgery of a public and private document, as well as a possible tax evasion, supposedly buy a BMW van with public money for personal use and not for the diplomatic service, as would have been said.

Likewise, it is being investigated whether the head of the diplomatic mission to the Swiss government would have submitted invoices for representation costs as if they were personal shop coupons, bearing in mind that foreign diplomats have the right to request a refund of their taxes as soon as one year.
