From Women’s Day
Christmas might look a little different for the royals this year, as it does for all of us, but that hasn’t stopped Prince William and Kate Middleton from perpetuating one of their sweetest festive traditions: their annual family Christmas card.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge send out personalized Christmas cards with a photo of the family every year – and this time they’ve opted for a winter outdoor theme, with the kids looking super cute of course.
This year’s family photo has been leaked to social media but has not yet been posted to Kensington Royal’s official Instagram account. On the Christmas card, William and Kate see smiling next to their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, with the five seated on a bale of hay in front of a pile of chopped wood.
In keeping with the winter theme, the whole family is wearing their warmest winter sweaters, which is a change from last year’s summer photo. True to its shape, Prince Louis smiles between his parents, and it’s adorable!
The leaked card was reportedly addressed “To all the wonderful NHS staff” followed by the message “I wish you a very Happy Christmas and New Year”.
The royals usually send out Christmas cards to thank charities and organizations they’ve worked with throughout the year, so it would of course be fitting for the Cambridges to thank the NHS after battling the coronavirus pandemic for such a difficult year.
It is not known where the photo for this year’s Christmas card was taken, but the family spent a great deal of lockdown at their Norfolk home, Anmer Hall, and they’ve taken their Christmas card photos there before, so it’s likely that this photo are the same.
The family has been busy this week, with the Duke and Duchess taking their children to the National Lottery’s Pantoland pantomime at The London Palladium, which was held to thank key workers and their families.
George, Charlotte and Louis were at their best when the Cambridges appeared on the red carpet together, lovingly holding hands.
