Prince William and Kate Middleton share a sweet new family Christmas card photo

Britain’s Prince William and his wife Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, released a new family photo of their Christmas card on Wednesday this year – and their children took center stage in the lovely photo.

The adorable snap, released on the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge official social media accountsshows the family sitting on a bale of hay in front of piles of firewood. Prince George, 7, Princess Charlotte, 5, ed Prince Louis, 2, are all seen lounging on their parents while smiling broadly for the camera. Little Prince Louis even seems to have been caught in the middle of a laugh during the shot.

The family wore casual sweater looks for their highly anticipated this year christmas card photo.

“The Duke and Duchess are delighted to share a new image of their family, which will be on their Christmas card this year,” the report reads.

The photo was taken in the family’s home in Anmer Hall by royal photographer Matt Porteous in the fall, Entertainment Tonight reports. He has also taken birthday photos of Prince George in the past.

The card was distributed to the country National Health Service (NHS) staff and frontline workers in gratitude for their tireless efforts to fight the coronavirus this year, the outlet said.

This year’s Christmas card photo has a more festive feel than last year’s image. Air Commodore Dawn McCafferty posted the map to Twitter last holiday season, ET reports. The image showed the family of five in warm clothes posing with a motorcycle and sidecar.

Christmas for the Royal Family – usually an elaborate spectacle – is likely to be a much quieter affair this year. Queen Elizabeth II canceled the traditional Christmas festivities at her Sandringham estate this holiday. Instead, she will spend time with her husband, Prince Philip, in Windsor, where they isolated during the pandemic.

Last year in particular Prince George and Princess Charlotte attended their very first Christmas church service with the queen during the annual family celebrations.
