The Vatican announced on Saturday the change to the plans of the Pope, Reuters reported. He will miss one event on January 24 and two events on January 25.

He would participate in two religious ceremonies: lead a mass in St. Peter’s Basilica on Sunday and attend a Vespers service on Monday at a church in Rome. He was also scheduled to speak at an annual speech to a diplomatic corps on Monday. According to the telegraphic service, it is being postponed to a later date.

The Pope has been suffering from sciatica for a while, but he hasn’t missed many events because of the condition, which affects the sciatic nerve and causes pain from the lower back to the leg.

84-year-old POpe also missed a religious service during the New Year holidays due to pain from the condition.

Francis is undergoing physical therapy for his condition, which sometimes causes him difficulty walking, Reuters said.

Pope Francis sent one message to President Biden on his inauguration day, saying he would pray for Biden and for God to help heal divisions in America.
