Police seize $ 50 million cocaine shipment in Yabucoa

Police Commissioner Antonio López Figueroa reported that agents from the Yabucoa Maritime Unit, of the Rapid Action United Forces Bureau (FURA), seized a millionaire shipment of cocaine, described at the time as the largest in El Negro. sector, Yabucoa.

“This coup d’état against drug trafficking, in which 67 bales were seized, with a total of 2,000 blocks of cocaine, shows once again that the initiatives of the police station are effective and eradicate the transfer of drugs to Puerto Rico, as is our commitment and that belonged to Governor Pedro Pierluisi, ”said the police commissioner.

The intervention was carried out on Thursday morning at 5:30 am, when the agents conducted a preventive maritime patrol.

“The FURA agents discovered a boat sailing to the coast of Yabucoa without light, and that’s when they intervened,” explains López Figueroa.

According to the police chief, a brief chase took place that culminated when the crew members stranded on the coast and fled into the forested area in the El Negro sector in Yabucoa. After checking the interior of the boat, described as an eight-meter Eduardoño brand, and with two 250-horsepower Yamaha engines, the agents found the millionaire shipment.
