BERKS COUNTY, Pa. Cumru Township police are investigating an armed robbery at a local gas station.

At around 10:42 AM on Friday, police were sent to a Sunoco gas station location located at Block 100 of Revere Blvd in Cumru Township.

Authorities say witnesses upon arrival described the suspect as a white male between 5’9 ” – 5’11 ” inches tall with stocky build, wearing a royal blue puffy hooded coat, blue jeans, dark footwear, blue surgical gloves. , a blue face cover / mask and black sunglasses.

According to reports, the suspect entered the store and walked to a beverage cooler where he removed a 16 oz. plastic bottle of Coca-Cola.

The suspect then approached the store’s cash register with a black semi-automatic pistol and demanded money from the Sunoco employee, officials say.

The employee gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of US currency that was put in a plastic storage bag.

The suspect took the bag and the soda bottle on foot through the parking lot to the east on the Crofts Service Lot at 114 Revere Blvd.

Officials say the suspect sat in the Sunoco for about two minutes.
