Police describe the chaotic arrest of ex-Giant Chad Wheeler

Three police officers reportedly had to tackle Chad Wheeler atop colossal former New York Giants and use a Taser to take him into custody after allegedly choking his girlfriend unconscious.

Several police reports obtained by TMZ Sports describe the fight between Kent police and the ex-NFL attacking lineman during the alleged Jan. 22 attack in his girlfriend’s apartment, leaving the woman with a dislocated arm, she told police.

“When I grabbed Chad, I could see that he was very solid and muscular as he was not easy to move,” one officer wrote in a police report of the 27-year-old listed at 6 feet tall and 318. meters long. lb.

Kent police were tipped off that the suspect in the domestic attack – which Wheeler has described as the result of a ‘manic episode’ – was the NFL lineman, TMZ reported.

Three officers who responded then had to come jointly to Wheeler to submit to him, but still struggled to take him into custody, one officer recalled.

“Since the three of us (with a combined weight of about 700 pounds) were sitting on top of Chad, I felt him lift his body as if pushing to get away,” a police report said.

At one point, Wheeler used his “massive size” when he was demolished with officers in a bathroom to temporarily lift himself up to six inches off the floor, while apparently taking “little effort,” an officer wrote in a report.

Police eventually used a Taser on the uncooperative Wheeler, but the device had “little to no effect” on him, the report said.

“Chad was so strong that even with the combined weight of three officers, he was able to move and avoid putting his arms behind his back,” one officer wrote in a report.

The three officers eventually took Wheeler into custody, but called for a prison van to take him to the police station because they feared his hefty body wouldn’t fit in a standard police cruiser, TMZ reported.

Wheeler, who previously played for the New York Giants in 2017 and 2018, pleaded not guilty to allegations of first-degree domestic violence, unlawful domestic violence incarceration, and resisting arrest in the alleged attack.

Wheeler was cut by the Seattle Seahawks on January 27 following his arrest and is due back in court on February 11. He was released but was ordered to remain under house arrest and away from the victim.

After being disbanded by the Seahawks, Wheeler later tweeted that he distanced himself from football and said he needed help after the “manic episode” that he said led to the alleged attack.

“I can’t express my sadness or remorse enough,” Wheeler tweeted on Wednesday. “I’m really ashamed.”

The Seahawks lineman was on medication for bipolar disorder, but recently stopped taking it, a separate police report found.
