Police are looking for a gunman after a man in his Miami-Dade home is shot

COUNTY MIAMI-DADE, Fla. Police set up a perimeter in a residential area of Southwest Miami-Dade on Monday morning after investigators said a man was shot in his own home early Monday morning.

The scene is on SW 107th Terrace, at SW 138th Avenue. Miami-Dade County police say preliminary information indicates that a man entered the house and shot the victim, who was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.

The suspect in the shooting is still at large, police say.

A neighbor tells Local 10 News that she woke up just after 5:00 in the morning to run and hear loud noises.

“Boom, boom,” she said, describing the sound. “I thought it was a transformer and the electricity would go out any moment.”

She says she peeked out and saw a car pulling away, but realized the noise was something else.

“It had to be a gun. It was strong and loud, ”she said.

Several agents remained on the scene and Miami-Dade police say the Hammocks District is continuing the investigation.
