Pokemon Sword and Shield Bug sends Snorlax through the sky

A particularly funny one Pokemon Shield A bug that was circulating online this week caused Snorlax to fly through the sky and into the distance, creating normal sight for such a large Pokemon. The bug is not one that players would normally find in-game, as it occurred in a hacked version of Pokemon Shield making it even rarer and so much better now that we’ve seen it.

The bug in question was exposed on social media by a Twitter user octozeppelin who shared the clip below showing Snorlax in flight. The player ran across a bridge just to float a Snorlax, unhindered by the sheer weight that the Pokemon is typically known for. When asked by another custom if the Pokemon was okay, the original poster responded with another clip showing Snorlax floating in the distance.

Of course, the scene spawned all kinds of edits from people working on music and other animations in the clip that suited it best. All of that coupled with the video itself made the clip quite popular, as it was viewed over 1.6 million times on Twitter at the time of publication.

Now, after seeing this clip, if you’re looking for a flying Snorlax in your game, you might be disappointed to learn that you probably won’t find one. The bug shown in the video above didn’t happen during a normal playthrough of Pokemon Shield and was instead experienced in a hacked version of the game. The user who shared the video said they were playing with a randomizer hack that spawned Pokemon outside of their normal environments and locations and added that it’s not the first thing they’ve seen going wrong in a funny way.

News about the Pokemon sword and shield front has been quiet lately after the release of the Crown tundra DLC made available not too long ago, but the games did get an update this month for players to download. A new trailer was also recently released to show that some Pokemon players from the Galar region will encounter, but if you’ve been playing the games for a while, you’ve probably already met quite a few, if not all of them.
