Pokemon is launching massive popularity poll ahead of its 25th anniversary

Pokemon Day is just around the corner and fans have high hopes for the anniversary. The franchise turns 25 years old in 2021, so you can see why fans are hoping for a big party. It looks like a number of anniversary events are kicking off just before the big day itself, and one of those celebrations is down to a popularity poll.

And yes, you can enter it wherever you are. As long as you have access to Twitter and a search engine, don’t worry! You can participate in the Pokemon fun!

As it turns out, The Pokemon Company kicked off a major popularity poll in Japan online. The brand started a Twitter campaign that tracks a specific hashtag in Japanese, and fans just need to use the word “に” め た “at the end of a specific post. You have to take that word to the end of the Pokemon you want to vote for as your favorite, but you must do so with the monster’s Japanese name.

So, for example, you could vote for Pikachu using these rules. You have to look up the monster’s name in Japanese (ピ カ チ ュ ウ) and tweet that word with a hashtag and the special Japanese word we mentioned earlier: # ピ カ チ ュ ウ に き め た

You can do this for any Pokemon as long as you follow the rules. You can send as many tweets as you want Pokemon agenda, and the company keeps track of the results. If you go to this site and scroll down you’ll find a refreshing list of the poll’s thirty best monsters. At the time of publishing this article, Dedenne is in first place, but the mouse has some fierce challengers coming from behind. Cinccino is in second place with Snivy and Buzzwole in third and fourth place.
