PNP commissioner confirms candidate triumphed for mayor of Guánica by direct nomination

The candidate for direct appointment as the mayor of Guánica, Edgardo Cruz Vélez, has the upper hand against popular candidate, Ismael “Titi” Rodríguez, after more votes were found in his favor, the election commissioner of the New Progressive Party (PNP) said , Héctor Joaquín Sánchez.

This put Cruz Vélez and Rodríguez on an equal footing, as five votes had to be subtracted from Rodríguez in the mixed votes, the PPD election commissioner explained.

“Then nine votes were found that had not been awarded in favor of Cruz Vélez in the coffers,” added Sánchez.
