Plenary session of the SCJ has a new composition of its chambers

Santo Domingo, RD.

The Plenary Session of the Supreme Court (SCJ) appointed Judges Vanessa Acosta Peralta and Nancy Salcedo, respectively, as members of the First and Third Houses, and Magistrate Moisés Ferrer as Judges of the Second Chamber.

This decision will take effect after the swearing-in of Judge Blas Fernández, elected to represent the SCJ judges on the Council of the Judiciary (CPJ).

Judge Blas Fernández, who belonged to the First Chamber of the Supreme Court, had been chosen by plenary as its representative for the CPJ, which led to the restructuring of his chambers.

In this sense, the Senate or Civil and Commercial Chamber was composed of its chairman, magistrate Pilar Jiménez Ortiz; Judges Samuel Arias Arzeno, Justiniano Montero Montero, Napoleón Estévez Lavandier and judge Vanessa Acosta Peralta. While the House, or Criminal Chamber, was integrated by the President-Magistrate Francisco Antonio Jerez Mena; the magistrate María Garabito Ramírez; and Judges Francisco Ortega Polanco, Fran Euclides Soto and Moisés Ferrer Landrón. While the Third Chamber or Chamber of Land, Labor, Tax Disputes and Administrative Disputes will consist of the President Magistrate Manuel Read Ortiz; Judges Manuel Ramón Herrera Carbuccia, Rafael Vásquez Goico, Anselmo Bello Ferreras and judge Nancy Salcedo Fernández.
