PlayStation and Xbox fans upset after cancellation of PS4 and Xbox One game

PlayStation fans are upset after another PS4 game was randomly canceled before the game was released, although this time it is in favor of releasing the game on PS5. Several PS4 games have been canceled since late last year, and now the first notable cancellation of 2021 has happened, and that comes courtesy of PQube Games and Dual Effect, who announced this week that not only the PS4 version of Tormented souls is canned, as well as the Xbox One version.

According to the former, the cancellation is because the couple “wants to take advantage of new hardware and create an improved, better experience for players to enjoy.” In other words, according to the couple, the cancellation comes down to wanting to use the power offered by the PS5 and Xbox Series X, but the game is still coming to the Nintendo Switch, which is technically inferior to both the PS4 and Xbox One.

As you might expect, those on the last-generation PlayStation console and the last-generation Xbox console are neither very happy with the decision, nor are they impressed by the explanation. In the replies to the tweet revealing the news, you can find several disgruntled PlayStation and Xbox fans.

“Quietly canceling the PS4 and Xbox One versions is already low, but canceling them to begin when the game comes to Switch is pretty gross,” one user wrote in response to the news

“As a PS4 user, I was really excited about the release of this game,” added another user“It would be disappointing if that’s true, and I hope you think about it again.”

When Tormented souls releases later this year, it will be available on the PS5, Xbox Series X / S, Nintendo Switch and PC. Despite the backlash, there is no word on how to reverse the decision to cancel the PS4 and Xbox One versions. If this changes, we will definitely update the story accordingly. In the meantime, be prepared to upgrade to PS5 or Xbox Series X if you’re using PS4 and Xbox One and want to play it when it’s released.
