A new PlayStation 5 report from the UK has some bad news for those still trying to get a PS5, at least in the UK, but if the UK has delivery issues it’s safe to assume the United States is also having delivery issues. More specifically, and according to a new report, many UK stores won’t receive shipments of the PS5 until 2021. This does not mean that there will not be new waves of orders as it is possible that many retailers are still on some stocks, if this is true it has become a lot harder to get a PS5 in the UK, at least until 2021.
As the report notes, major retailers such as GAME and Amazon UK haven’t had the PS5 since the console launched in November. Meanwhile, retailers such as Argos and Smyths Toys have revealed that they won’t have any stock until 2021, while Asda won’t have any until December 25, which probably means that even if you manage to get a PS5 from the store, you won’t have any stock. until 2021.
Everyone in the UK should expect limited opportunities to get their hands on a PS5 before 2021. Meanwhile, things aren’t much better in the United States. While retailers such as Walmart, Best Buy, and GameStop have all performed PS5 restocks this week, many of these orders have been canceled while previous weeks’ orders have still not been fulfilled. In some cases, those who pre-order a PS5 this week will even be told not to expect it until spring 2021.
It is a mess. And just like in the UK, PlayStation fans should be willing to wait until 2021 to get a PS5. Again, this isn’t to say that there won’t be a chance to get your hands on a PS5 before 2021, there almost certainly will be. But at this point, it looks like the odds are going to be against you more than ever, wherever you are in the world.
