In July 2019, Playboi Carti informed its fans at a show at The Eagle’s Ballroom in Milwaukee, Wis. Very Lotta Red album would drop within 60 days.

About a year after Playboi initially announced Carti Very Lotta Red, the rapper from Atlanta appeared GQNovember’s Man of the Year release and shared some minor details about the album’s sound.
Carti said his second attempt will be “alternative” and “psyched-out”.
When asked if the album will be out before the year is over, he replied, “We’ll see.”

Rumors are circulating online about features on Very Lotta Red
Around December 15, Lil Uzi Vert said on his Instagram Live that he will be appearing on Playboi Carti’s Very Lotta Red. Uzi said he’s on number 3 and the hook of number 16.
Carti later said that both Kid Cudi and Travis Scott are also on the album. In a selfie he shared of himself and Cudder, Carti wrote, “fL3w 2 bro! ToLD hiM his music iS WORLd need. V3ry good GUY BEAUTIFUL sPirit. HE WILL BE ON THIS ALBUM. L0v3 hiM. W3 ALL.”
As for La Flame, Carti tweeted on December 19, “@trvisXX. W0w aMaZinG. L0ve THis V3RSE. REd rEd rEd!”
Carti also played a snippet of his leaked song “Pissy Pamper” with Kid Cudi in the background. The song, which first surfaced online in 2019, originally featured Young Nudy, but it looks like Nudy may not be on the official track.

On December 22, Playboi officially announced Carti Very Lotta Red‘s release date. In a tweet sharing the pre-order link for the album, Carti also revealed the project’s cover art, which was done by himself and Art Dealer.
