Illustrator and pixel artist Pat Ackerman has the entire Pokédex of Pokémon Sword and Shield like old-school sprites.
Starting then the starters of the eighth generation were unveiled, Ackerman slowly but surely pixelated every pocket monster found in the most recent games of the series. And as of this week, he has an incredibly impressive portfolio of perfectly pixelated Pokémon to show off for it.
Perhaps more impressive is Ackerman’s dedication to making his art appear as close to the first generation as possible Pokémon games possiblePokémon Yellow specific.
When making this, I use the 56 x 56 canvas size, the original size of the sprites Pokémon Red / Blue / Green / Yellow, ‘Said Ackerman Kotaku. “I also stick to the palette of Yellow. I’m really focusing on the Pokémon’s pose as that used to really define who they were before 3D models. I try to make them dynamic and show something unique to the Pokémon. “
