‘If you mistakenly think your co-workers like you’: Piers Morgan is far from happy as he gifted an insulting ‘w **** r’ mug from GMB friends

He is as synonymous with his outspoken opinions and Twitter feuds as he is of his illustrious career in broadcasting and journalism.

But it seems Piers Morgan’s Good Morning Britain colleagues may not be fans of his candid views, as they gave him a rather insulting mug on Thursday.

GMB presenter Piers, 55, shared a photo of himself holding up the mug that read ‘W **** r’, as he wrote, ‘If you mistakenly think your colleagues like you.’

Piers grimaced as he showed his ability, after exposing his disappointment at the realization that in the eyes of his colleagues he might not rank as highly as he thought he did.

The mug in question featured the words ‘Wonderful, Awesome, Nice, Kind, Easygoing, Remarkable’, but unfortunately for Piers they were an acronym of the word ‘W **** r’.

The TV host did not specifically mention which co-stars gave him the gift.

The light-hearted post was inundated with several comments from fans, many of whom found the gift hilarious.

Piers’s unfortunate drinking gear comes a day after he made fun of Tom Cruise’s reported rant against the crew on the Mission Impossible set.

The broadcaster broke out on its Good Morning Britain crew on Wednesday by threatening to fire them, as if caught off guard when the show returned from an ad break.

After reports that Tom had ended up in a furious rant on workers on the London set after noting that they were not following COVID-19 safety rules, Piers decided to give the GMB crew their own look.

Piers joked about the eruption, yelling, “Never do that again! I’m going to fire you! Okay?’

Unmoved by his behavior, co-host Susanna Reid joked, “The language he used during the break was much worse, but don’t worry, my phone was answering.”

Piers calmed himself down and pretended to be caught off guard, as the show had just returned from a commercial break.

He said, ‘Sorry, that was so awkward. I just gave the troops a moral boost. Right guys? We are all friends? Everything good?’

Turning to the GMB crew, he added, “I think one of his buddies would chin me, Darren sure. He wouldn’t even hesitate. ‘

Last month, Piers defiantly claimed that he ‘doesn’t care’ what people think of him, joking that he sees their differing opinions as ‘a good chance to have another feud.’

Speaking to GQ Magazine after winning the Men Of The Year Personality of the Year award, the TV star began not to bother about how he was perceived.

He said of the public opinion of him: ‘I don’t really care what people say about me. Honestly. I know people think I should do it, but I really don’t. I just see it as a good opportunity to start a new feud. ‘
