Piers Morgan claims that members of the royal family have sent thanks after Meghan Markle Rant

Piers Morgan is on a royal tear.

The broadcaster appeared on “Extra TV” on Tuesday to speak with host Billy Bush about his departure his performance on “Good Morning Britain” and reportedly received support from members of the British Royal Family for “standing up for them” in comments he made about Meghan Markle.

Morgan left “GMB” after saying he “didn’t believe a word,” the Duchess of Sussex said during Harry and Meghan’s prime-time special with Oprah Winfrey last month.

“I wouldn’t believe her if she read me a weather report, and the fact that she fueled this attack on our royal family is despicable,” Morgan said at the time.

The comments apparently hit a nerve as Morgan told Bush that he had “had some messages communicated to me on behalf of several members of the royal family.” Morgan declined to name names when Bush asked if they were “top-level people” contacting them.

“Well, I’m not going to get into who it was,” said the “Wake Up” author. “But what I would say is gratitude that someone stood up for them.”

A Buckingham Palace spokesperson told HuffPost on Wednesday that “this is not something we’re commenting on.” Kensington Palace did not return a request for comment.

Morgan also told Bush to “apologize for not believing Meghan Markle, who I don’t believe.”

“I think – and this is ironic – you should have the right to disbelieve someone if you don’t want to,” added the broadcaster.

During Meghan’s interview with Oprah, the Duchess said she was contemplating suicide, and members of the royal family reportedly expressed racist concerns about how dark her son’s skin would be before he was born. Prince Harry also revealed that his father, Prince Charles, “stopped taking his calls” during conversations about his royal departure, claiming that his family “literally cut me off financially.”

Gayle King, ‘CBS This Morning’ host and friend of the couple, later shared an update on Harry’s conversations with his father and brother, Prince William, calling them ‘unproductive’.

“The word I got was that those conversations weren’t productive,” King said on her show in March. “But they are happy that they have at least started a conversation.”

“I think what is still troubling them is that the palace keeps saying they want to resolve it privately, yet they believe these false stories are coming out which are still very disparaging towards Meghan,” said King.

“I find it frustrating for them to see it being a racial talk about the royal family, when all this time they just wanted the royals to step in and tell the press to stop the dishonest, inaccurate, false Definitely have a racial streak. ”The journalist added.“ Until you can recognize that, I think it’s going to be hard to move forward. ”
