On December 11, the Mexican composer and singer attended the launch of the venue that houses the history of the bolero and its artistic career. With poor use of the mask and several assistants, the activity is under public scrutiny.
The death of singer-songwriter Armando Manzanero, in the early morning of this Monday, December 28, has shocked the Latin American artistic world. Just as expressions of condolence have engulfed social networks and messages of solidarity have reached Yucatecan relatives, speculation about negligence on the part of the artist and his relatives has not slowed to light.
Many internet users have pointed out that before it became known that Manzanero had been diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2, he witnessed the inauguration of the Manzanero House Museum, a cultural venue built in tribute to the singer-songwriter of “Nada personal”, located in Mérida. The event took place on December 11, with several guests and the photos show that the now deceased artist is abusing the mask.

“That tribute cost him his life in the middle of the pandemic. How irresponsible! ”,“ Where did he get infected? Meetings are a risk factor and if we add that the mask is not used correctly ”,“ Don Armando is infected in his honor. Could it be that it was his end? Either way, we regret his death. Let’s ask for his peace and strength for his family ”,“ We already know where it was infected, but no matter how much they tell you this is not the time to be offended. If I hadn’t left, I would still be alive, ”commented some netizens in a Facebook post on the Desconocido portal in Mexico, announcing the museum’s arrival.
In addition, Twitter users took as a reference, from the event in which Manzanero was and where he could have been infected, a tweet from Miguel Torruco Marqués, the tourism minister of the government of Mexico, who published on December 11 how the opening of the Casa Manzanero Museum and other tourist spots activated in Mérida.
Product innovation and diversification will make Mexico a more attractive, original and unique destination. We work so that each state offers “anchor” attractions that give way to new local tourist circuits; for example, #HouseManzanero and the “Route of Nostalgia” in Mérida pic.twitter.com/g1P2Xkv9fe

“Everyone is talking about the death of Armando Manzanero, no one says that a few days before his hospitalization there was something not to be done: a museum was inaugurated in his native country where a crowd of people were present. Gosh, let’s see if they stay at home … “wrote the user @Ale_Villanueva.

The Casa Manzanero Museum has 310 square meters and is designed to house three thematic axes, which “bet on technology and interact with visitors,” according to the website México Desconocido: la sala Never in the world, which discusses the bolero as a musical genre and the history of Mérida in the first half of the 20th century, when Manzanero was still a teenager; the area I don’t know about you, which composes the culmination of the career of this music master (awards, tours, emblematic concerts) and the salon This afternoon I saw it rain, which, according to Architectural Digest Mexico magazine, “uncovers the most intimate facet of Manzanero that reflects his family life, his contributions to culture and his participation in Mexican film and television.”

The Mexican press announced on December 18 that the famous composer had been hospitalized for COVID-19, despite a slight improvement, the virus complicated the picture of pre-existing diseases (diabetes and kidney problems) in Manzanero.
