Photos show adorable Central Park coyote in the snow

New photos show the Central Park coyote relaxing in a wooded area of Manhattan’s green space.

Photos taken Friday by Benjamin Shyman caught the hairy beast hanging out in between naps near the lake, close to East 74.th Street.

The coyote was previously spotted in Central Park running through the snow last week – and again the week before.

The City Parks Department says a coyote “hangs out in Central Park from time to time.”

“New Yorkers need not worry: we believe there is only one coyote; and have no reason to believe that the population is currently increasing, ”the bureau said.

In 2021, the department received only one sighting of a coyote in Manhattan so far, but in 2020 it registered 34 coyote sightings in the borough.

As of 2016, the Parks Department has received 126 reports of coyote sightings across the city through the WildlifeNYC website, the agency said.
