Phoebe Bridgers calls David Crosby a ‘little b ****’ after rocker said her SNL guitar-busting antics were ‘pathetic’
Phoebe Bridgers and David Crosby disagree.
The 26-year-old Kyoto singer caused a stir when she ended her SNL performance by screaming and hitting one of the stage monitors with her guitar, à la rock stars like Jimi Hendrix and The Clash.
But longtime school musician Crosby, 79, was unimpressed by her antics, calling the stunt “ pathetic ” when asked on Twitter on Monday.
Bridgers hit back with an insult, calling the Crosby co-founder, Stills, Nash & Young a “ little b **** ” in a response to the tweet.

While not directly responding to Phoebe, Crosby explained his point of view in another tweet several hours later, writing, ‘Guitars are to play … to make music … stage drama. ….
‘I really DO NOT give a flying F when others have done it before,’ he told people who pointed out that many of his contemporaries in the 60s and 70s were eager to destroy their instruments for show.
“It’s still … STUPID,” he went on.
But Phoebe made no apologies for the stunt.
On Monday, she shared a photo of the moment of impact on her Instagram, writing, ‘I’ve gotten really great feedback from my performance! next time i just burn it and it will be more expensive. ‘

While the I Know The End singer’s grand finale seemed like an impulsive punk rock moment, she admitted that everything was pre-planned under the guidance of SNL.
After fellow musician Kathleen Edwards tweeted that she was ‘mad’ about the monitor breaking, Bridgers revealed, ‘They fake me to break.’
And the guitar wasn’t invaluable, as musician Jason Isbell noted in his own tweet.
“ That was like a $ 85 guitar she smashed, come on guys, ” he replied, to which Phoebe added, “ I said [guitarmaker] Danelectro I was going to do it and they wished me the best of luck and told me they are hard to break. ‘
