Philip Rivers of the Indianapolis Colts has never been the most mobile quarterback. Which is good. Sometimes you just have to do enough to do as you are, which is what Rivers did on his first touchdown pass against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday at Heinz Field.
The Steelers staged a mid-second blitz late in the second quarter when Rivers stepped left, put a few steps in the pocket and found receiver Zach Pascal for a 42-yard touchdown pass. Rivers was hit by two Steelers defenders that gave the Colts a 21-7 lead.
The touchdown pass was the 420th of Rivers’ career, finishing Dan Marino in fifth place on the NFL’s all-time touchdown list.
