Pharmacist injected with four doses of Pfizers vaccine: report

An Israeli pharmacist is really protected from COVID-19 – after being accidentally injected with four doses of the Pfizer injection, according to a report.

Uday Azizi, a pharmacist from Maccabi Healthcare Services, said he felt fine after being sent to a hospital to be monitored for accidentally receiving the extra amounts, the Times of Israel reported.

The health professional who administered the shot apparently didn’t realize that each Pfizer vial contains different doses – usually five, but sometimes even more, according to the outlet.

Azizi said he has only experienced mild, common side effects so far – local pain and some redness at the injection site.

“I have no problem getting another four doses,” he said. “Let’s be optimistic … about the vaccine, the whole situation and maybe the New Year.”

The pharmacist said he will probably still need the second dose of the vaccine in three weeks – and encouraged others not to fear the inoculation.
