Pedro Troglio confirms offer to run Saprissa: ‘They called me, it’s never been stronger’ – Ten

Following Walter Centeno’s divorce from Saprissa’s technical leadership, Argentinean Pedro Troglio, who currently heads Olimpia, emerged as one of the candidates to reach the purple bench.

In an interview with ESPN Costa Rica, Olimpia coach Pedro Troglio was very sincere and assured that there had been conversations, but not directly.

“They called me, it has never been more steadfast, I think if it’s something very solid, the president should call you, if representatives or people of that level call you, I don’t care because as a leader loves you, he calls you president, ”he began to say.

The Argentinian coach’s name has been associated with various clubs and national teams, but assurances say there has been no contact with the president of Saprissa.

“The last time they talked about Saprissa, the president of the institution never called to tell me there was a rapprochement, maybe a representative threw your name away.”

When asked if he would like to direct on Costa Rican soil, he replied, “Yes, I never close the doors to anyone, I manage big teams all over the world, first of all it’s a great satisfaction, I feel very comfortable here, but it is not known how long it will take, I don’t choose, I only direct and I don’t close the doors to anyone.

Olimpia wants to renew Pedro Troglio

Pedro Troglio was a World Cup player with Argentina in 1990 and led teams such as: Godoy Cruz de Mendoza, Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata, Independiente, Argentinos Juniors and Tigre. He has also been with Cerro Porteño (Paraguay) and Universitario de Deportes (Peru).

Troglio will continue to lead Olimpia of Honduras, but his contract will expire at the end of the 2021 Clausura tournament season. Tonight, he will face Real Spain.
