Pedophile pop star Gary Glitter gets the COVID-19 vaccine in prison

Pedophile pop star Gary Glitter has been given the COVID-19 vaccine – before his victims and prison staff protect him, according to a report.

The 76-year-old sex offender – whose real name is Paul Gadd – was among a slew of older perverts who were jabbed in a British prison last week, serving 16 years for abusing three girls, The Sun said.

British government officials urged the paper that prisoners should be “vaccinated at the same time as the general public” and not be prioritized.

But David Spencer of the Center For Crime Prevention said it proved the system “needs an urgent overhaul.”

“There are enough key workers and vulnerable people who have yet to receive their injection. It is wrong to choose criminals before them, ”he told The Sun.

A source told The Sun that convicted sex offenders were many of the first to get the injection, as many of them are seniors. Because of their young age, victims are probably one of the last to receive the same protection.

“You have a number of prisons where there is a significant group of older sex offenders, all in their 70s and 80s,” the source said.

“Because of their age, they are the first to receive the vaccine.

“But if you’re a prison officer looking after Glitter and you haven’t had the shot, you’re not going to be happy,” the source said.

Glitter was vaccinated in Dorset’s The Verne prison, which is called “luxury Alcatraz” due to its island location and mild conditions, The Sun said.

He has been incarcerated since 2015 for abusing three young girls – his third in prison for pedophilic crimes.

He was first imprisoned in 1999 for downloading images of child abuse, and then again in 2006 for molesting two girls aged 11 and 12.

A government spokesman urged The Sun to give prisoners the shot “in accordance with priority groups established by the independent Joint Vaccination and Immunization Commission.”
