Why is it so exciting? Because of its strange history. FAM means “Ferrari’s ass is mine” (“Ferrari donkey is mine“), referring to the rivalry that Carroll Shelby and Ford had with Ferrari. That detail also explains why the car has Ferrari’s classic color combination: red with beige interiors.
This car was a Shelby custom, was a Shelby custom in the 1990s, and is part of Cobra’s CSX1000 series, which consisted of just 14 cars. Only two of them are FAM edition.
The car features a Shelby 427 FE 468 V8 aluminum engine, Tremec TKO600 five-speed manual gearbox, independent transmission, oil cooler, four-wheel independent suspension and Wilwood brakes.
Given the rarity of the car, it is expected to fetch a high price at the auction, which will take place on March 20-21 in with auction .
