Several wide receivers from the 2019 concept class have become striking. Despite being a first choice, N’Keal Harry does not belong. But the patriots have shown flashes in his shortened tenure. However, its inconsistent production appears to have teams wondering if the Patriots have seen enough.
Teams call the Pats about Harry, according to NFL.com’s Mike Garafolo (video linkTwo years remain on Harry’s rookie contract, with an option decision for the fifth year not to be taken until 2022. However, Harry is a bit off the options radar at this point.
New England selected Harry last pick in the first round of 2019. The six-foot Arizona state product has a total of just 414 receiving yards and four touchdowns in 21 games. But he’s not exactly pushed into ideal circumstances.
Harry missed the first half of his rookie season due to an injury and didn’t contribute much Tom Bradythe last few months with the franchise. The COVID-19 pandemic that kept players away from team facilities prevented Harry from cooperating Cam Newton, which didn’t sign until the end of June, during the 2020 low season. Newton’s later struggles limited New England’s passing game, with Harry no doubt adding a bit to the veteran passer’s misery.
If they were to handle this off-season to Harry, the Patriots would be selling pretty low. None of his last two rookie contract limits surpass $ 3.5 million. Teams will also have a plethora of receivers to choose from in free duty, and this design is expected to feature another strong broad crop. The Pats will certainly contribute to their current group, and it will be interesting to see where Harry is when they are done with that.
