Patrick Mahomes paid his respects to the GOAT after falling short in the 2021 Super Bowl.
“You’re a legend, man,” Mahomes told Tom Brady after the Chiefs fell to the Buccaneers on Sunday, 9/31.
Brady replied, “You’re a stud, mate.”
The Super Bowl was heralded as an unmissable match between Brady, the 43-year-old timeless wonder, and Mahomes, the 25-year-old who is considered by some to be one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time.
But while Brady did his part, throwing for 201 yards and three touchdowns on the way to winning his record seventh Super Bowl – more than any NFL franchise – and fifth MVP award, Mahomes threw two interceptions because the Chiefs didn’t touchdown scored.
The Big Game marked the second playoff encounter between the two quarterbacks, with Brady winning first in the 2019 AFC Championship.
After that match, Brady Mahomes famously pulled aside for a pep talk.
Mahomes won the Super Bowl and MVP award the following season.
