Patrick Mahomes avoided COVID-19 hairdressing anxiety

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was one of 20 people who would get a haircut from the barber who tested positive for COVID on Sunday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Wednesday.

The barber was removed as soon as his quick positive test result returned, but he had already started shaving Daniel Kilgore, downtown Kansas City, and cut wide receiver Demarcus Robinson’s hair on Saturday, putting both players on the reserve / COVID- 19 list were coerced because they were considered high-risk close contacts. The barber was in the middle of Kilgore’s haircut, but Clarified Schefter that Kilgore had let the hairdresser finish the job because he was already a close contact.

Kilgore posted a photo of herself with a half-shaved head on Twitter, captioned: #Newprofilepic.

Neither player has tested positive for COVID since then, and if they continue to test negative, both players will be active for Super Bowl 2021 on Sunday, when the Chiefs take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Tampa, Florida.

The hairdresser had reportedly tested negative for five consecutive days before entering the facility on Sunday.

Robinson caught 45 passes for 466 yards and three touchdowns during the regular season, but he only caught one pass for 14 yards in two playoff games. Kilgore started four games during the regular season and served as a backup lineman in the Chiefs’ victory over the Bills in the AFC Championship game.
