Passenger refuses to wear mask, attacks Uber driver in California with pepper spray

Authorities from the city of San Francisco, California reported an incident involving an Uber driver and some female passengers he picked up in the Portola neighborhood.

As reported by NBC, the driver is said to have canceled the trip in which he was about to transport people after realizing they were not wearing a mask.

The driver, identified as a 32-year-old man, admitted the three passengers on March 7, but one of them continued to refuse to use face protection, in violation of current Uber user health policy.

In a written statement to the media, police said that “an altercation took place and a second passenger got up over the driver’s seat and stole the cell phone from his hands. The victim later recovered possession of the device.”

After this, the people got out of the car and a third passenger approached the open window to spray the pepper spray into the car.

Authorities are still trying to find the culprits.

In a video circulating on networks, we even see women tearing the mask off the driver’s face and coughing in his face.
