Silencing conservative social media speeches has become a “ coordinated effort ” by major techs to shut down Parler, according to the social media platform. CEO John Matze.
“This was a coordinated attack by the tech giants to kill competition in the market,” Matze said. “We were too successful too quickly.
“You can expect the war on competition and free speech to continue, but don’t hold us against it. #Speakfreely.”
Matze’s statement comes as Amazon removes the platform from its web servers, which could shut down the conservative social media platform for about a week.
“At midnight Sunday, Amazon will shut down all of our servers in an effort to completely remove freedom of speech from the Internet,” he wrote. “There is a possibility that Parler will not be available on the internet for a week while we rebuild from scratch.
“We prepared for events like this by never relying on Amazon’s proprietary infrastructure and building bare metal products.”
Matze called on Amazon, Google and Apple to orchestrate the “ coordinated effort. ”
“We will do our best to move to a new carrier at this point as there are many vying for our business; however, Amazon, Google and Apple have done this intentionally as a coordinated effort, knowing our options will be limited and knowing that this the most damage precisely when President Trump was banned from the technology companies. “
