That’s the sweet story from the Sanford Canton-Inwood Medical Center in Canton, SD, where on December 23, paramedic Robby Vargas-Cortes showed up to receive his COVID injection, knowing that his five-year-old friend, registered nurse Eric Vander Lee, would do that. be one of the people who handle vaccinations, per CNN. But Vargas-Cortes had plans for more than vaccinations in his head and up his sleeve – and that’s where he hid an engagement ring. ‘It kind of crossed my mind that I might just record [the ring] on my arm, “he says to KELO.” That way, when [Vander Lee] if the sleeve rolled up, he would see it there. ”

Vargas-Cortes then begins his official proposal, while Vander Lee’s associates applaud and scream with joy, Vargas-Cortes puts the ring on Vander Lee’s finger and they hug each other. The two men had talked about getting engaged in the past, and when Vargas-Cortes found out that Vander Lee would help administer the vaccines, he thought, “What better chance?” per the New York Times.
