Maybe there was a full moon.
A Pakistani man has been arrested for driving through the streets of Peshawar with a werewolf mask to scare people on New Year’s Eve, the Indian Express reported.
Asad Khan, a resident of the city’s Moti neighborhood, reportedly made roaring noises while riding his motorcycle, according to the outlet, quoting Saama TV.
The furry suspect had a bone of contention with police, saying he wasn’t trying to scare anyone – just obeying the government’s mandate to wear a mask during the coronavirus pandemic.
Social media users cried at the images of the little man, who is seen on his bicycle and later – still wearing the grotesque mask – chained to a police officer.
Maybe he didn’t want to take any chances during an epidemic like this. That mask is a surefire weapon for fighting Covid-19, ” a user said on Twitter.
Another wrote, “People get scared of the dude and don’t come out on New Years during Covid times, everyone stays safe. Isn’t this a good thing? “
And a third said in a tweet that the man “had been reported to the police by a girl with a little red riding hood”.
It was not immediately clear whether the suspect had been charged.
