By the end of Sunday night, the Green Bay Packers could be guaranteed to be the number 1 seed in the NFC.
And it doesn’t take much in terms of results to get it done.
The path forward in Week 16 is easy for the Packers – hope for the right result in an important early game, then beat the Tennessee Titans on Sunday Night Football.
The Packers can bring in the number 1 seed with the following two results:
Los Angeles Rams win (or draw) vs. Seattle Seahawks
– Packers win vs. Titans
The Rams and Seahawks play in Seattle from 3:25 p.m. CT on Sundays. The Packers will host the Titans at Lambeau Field at 7:15 p.m. CT. Before kickoff, Matt LaFleur’s team will know if they can capture the best seed by beating the Titans.
The Chicago Bears, who will welcome the Packers to Soldier Field in the season finale next Sunday, continue to hunt for the last playoff spot in the NFC. They will play against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, but will not be able to make a playoff spot or be eliminated this week, meaning next week will be important to Matt Nagy’s team. Whatever happens in week 16, the Packers can secure the # 1 seed by beating the Bears next week.
