A powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake shook the Pacific Islands today, particularly in the Loyalty Islands province.
At the moment there are no reports of damage or casualties, but a tsunami watch has been issued for the entire area.
It was initially reported that the magnitude of the event was 7.9, but it has already been revised.
The epicenter took place at a depth of 10 kilometers, according to the United States Geological Survey. The situation is currently being evaluated to determine whether an alert is being raised off the west coast of the United States.
